The DioField Chronicle Square Enix RTS arriving in fall

The era of myths gives way to an era of great turmoil…

Square Enix has certainly been busy this year. They’ve got a slew of different releases planned for this year and next, including the Crisis Core remaster and Dragon Quest Treasures. Adding onto that list is a new real-time tactical battle game: The DioField Chronicle arrives on PlayStation, Xbox, PC, and Switch in the fall.

The DioField Chronicle story and characters

The era of myths gives way to an era of great turmoil… The world of men is mired in an age of war which rages for years on end. A band of elite mercenaries calling themselves Blue Fox arise amidst the flames and the chaos, their fates and valiant deeds to be sung of in ages yet to come. But when all is said and done, will the name “Blue Fox” come to signify hope or darkest tragedy?

The DioField Chronicle exists under the Shaytham dynasty, where the Kingdom of Alletain on DioField Island has enjoyed peace for the past 200 years. However, as warlike powers and modern magic rise, their fate seems more uncertain. Rich in mineral jade, a base ingredient in sorcery, the Kingdom of Alletain draws attention of the Empire and the Alliance. Elite mercenary band “Blue Fox” rises to the occasion in the wake of strife: will they come to signify hope or the darkest tragedy?

Enjoy a deeply immersive story with real-time tactical battle. The world blends fantasy, medieval, and modern influences. Combined the rich battle featuring a “diorama” style and strategy, this game certainly sets out to be unique.
