Dragon Quest Treasures announced for Nintendo Switch

Boundless adventure in a treasure hunter’s paradise!

The Dragon Quest franchise stayed notably silent the past few years. Aside from the mobile game Dragon Quest Walk releasing back in 2019, not much came about since. That is, until today. Revealed in a Nintendo Direct Mini, Square Enix and Nintendo announced spin-off Dragon Quest Treasures launching on Nintendo Switch this upcoming winter.

Dragon Quest Treasures

Venture to the realm of Draconia to become legendary treasure hunters. Take control of siblings Erik and Mia, who you may recognize from Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age, to begin your quest.

Recruit well-mannered monsters to help you find loot, along with your handy fortune finder. Monsters make great travel buddies when traversing the vast world of Draconia. Bounce on slimes, glide on drakys, whatever it takes to discover treasure! Additionally, be sure to aid your friendly monsters in battle while out exploring. Then, when you’re all done, bring your haul back to see how much you’ve earned. With that hard-earned cash, expand your home base and further build up your brigade of friendly monsters.

Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age went over well during its enhanced release in 2019 on Nintendo Switch. Many praised it for its story, characters, and narrative, even earning Metacritics’ “#2 Best Switch Game of 2019” and “#3 Best PS4 Game of 2020” awards. It’s great to see the return of some of its characters in the new spin-off.

When does it release?

“X marks the spot” when Dragon Quest Treasures launches on Nintendo Switch December 9, 2022. Be on the lookout for more news regarding this spinoff on the official Dragon Quest website. You can also follow the franchise’s official channels on Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, and Instagram. While waiting for the release, feel free to pick up the latest main entry to familiarize yourself with Erik and Mia and the world of Dragon Quest.
