Bloodstained to get a new character from “a well-known partner”

It seems that Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night isn’t done yet in terms of content. The Kickstarted Metroidvania released in 2019 has seen continued updates from the development team. But this one is sure to raise some eyebrows. In a developer update, the team announced that a character NOT from the Bloodstained universe is coming to the game. The only hint given is that the note says the character is from “a well-known partner.”

Credit to the team to let the internet go nuts with any speculation of who this could be. “Well-known partner” could mean any studio from big to small. Bloodstained has already worked to include references from some indie games like Shovel Knight and Blasphemous. But the idea of someone from Capcom or SEGA coming into the horror adventure is enticing. Wouldn’t it be wild if it was one of the Belmonts or Soma Cruz? Given the very public breakup that Konami and IGA had over Bloodstained, seeing that would send the Metroidvania community into hysterics! We can all dream, right?

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is available now for PC, PlayStation 4/5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Switch. Who do you think is coming to the game in the next update? Let us know below!
