Gotham Knights joins this week’s upcoming games

Gotham Knights, Them's Fightin' Herds and more!

Happy Monday, everyone! It’s the start of another week, which means we have lots of great new games in store. Whether you want to jump into some superhero action in Gotham Knights or start an equestrian journey in Them’s Fightin’ Herds, there’s a new game for you.

A Plague Tale: Requiem (Oct. 18)

A Plague Tale: Requiem

Starting things off this week, we have A Plague Tale: Requiem. Developed by Asobo Studio and published by Focus Entertainment, this game follows the de Rune siblings Amicia and Hugo as they traverse a dangerous world on the run. Following the previous installment, the new title builds off the established combat with expanded mechanics.

The game prioritizes stealth, with sneaking and spying on enemy soldiers taking a front seat in the overall focus. However, this time around, Amicia has a variety of weapons at her disposal, and players can also take advantage of Hugo’s unique abilities. A Plague Tale: Requiem launches tomorrow for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch and PC.

Them’s Fightin’ Herds (Oct. 18)

Galloping into your home next is Them’s Fightin’ Herds. Developed by Mane6 and published by Modus Games, this cute fighting game draws heavy inspiration from the My Little Pony franchise. In fact, My Little Pony head showrunner Lauren Faust even stepped in to help with the game’s character designs.

Alongside a charming story mode, the game’s real meat comes from its addictive multiplayer. With a variety of animal-themed characters and easy-to-learn fighting mechanics, this game promises to keep players hoofed… I mean hooked. You can ride into Them’s Fightin’ Herds tomorrow when it launches on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC.

Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope (Oct. 20)

Then, Ubisoft brings us the next big crossover between Mario and Rabbids in Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope. The intergalactic journey brings Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach and the Rabbids together on a mission to save the Sparks from a malevolent entity. Throughout the game, you’ll develop a dream team of three heroes to defeat both new and familiar bosses and enemies throughout the galaxy.

As you explore the different planets, you’ll also uncover some mysterious secrets and complete exciting quests. You’ll also rescue a series of Sparks who each give you special abilities to help you in battle. Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope jumps onto Nintendo Switch on October 20.

New Tales from the Borderlands (Oct. 21)

New Tales from the Borderlands is the newest chapter in the chaotic world of Borderlands. Developed by Gearbox Software and published by 2K, this narrative-driven adventure puts you in the roles of Anu, Octavio and Fran on the worst day of their lives. Set in the war-torn city of Promethea, you’ll need to help these three as they face down a planetary invasion, vicious vault monster and cold-hearted capitalist.

The game features a deep choice-driven story, where every decision you make impacts where the game goes next. Featuring similar gameplay to the first Tales from the Borderlands, fans of Telltale’s entry should feel right at home in this new adventure. You can blast into New Tales from the Borderlands when it drops on October 21 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One and PC.

Persona 5 Royal (Oct. 21)

Though it previously launched as a PS4 exclusive in 2020, players on other consoles can get their hands on Persona 5 Royal this week. Developed and published by Atlus, the highly popular JRPG serves as an enhanced edition of the original Persona 5. Featuring new cutscenes, characters, abilities and locales, this definitive game is a must-play for fans of the Persona franchise.

Overall, the expanded version of the game met a positive reception at launch. However, it was limited to only those with a PS4. Now, players on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC can try out the exciting role-playing game when Persona 5 Royal launches on October 21.

Gotham Knights (Oct. 21)

Closing out this week, we have the highly-anticipated DC Comics adventure Gotham Knights. Set in a world where Batman died, players take on the roles of Robin, Nightwing, Red Hood and Batgirl to pick up where the Dark Knight left off and clean the streets of Gotham. Featuring the cult-classic villain group The Court of Owls as the big bads, this game is a must for diehard Batman fans.

Developed by Warner Bros. Montreal and published by Warner Bros. Interactive, the new game promises an expansive open-world to explore and villains to fight. Each of the four main characters, also feature unique abilities and playstyles that make all of them feel distinct to their comic counterparts. You can jump into Gotham Knights on October 21 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
