Dungeon Fighter spinoff DNF Duel gets a stunning new trailer

While the trailer doesn't give us tons of information about a release, it is at least beautiful to look at.

A new trailer for DNF Duel, the upcoming Dungeon Fighter fighting game spinoff, arrived earlier this week. Developers Neople, Arc System Works, and Eighting are collaborating to bring this new fighting game to life. We’ve known about the game since last year, but this trailer marks the first official glimpse we have of the game in action.

The short 45-second trailer showcases some of the gameplay and characters we can expect from DNF Duel. However, it doesn’t give us any indication on when (or where) the game will release.

As might be expected from a game by Arc System Works, the gameplay and animations look phenomenal. The studio previously impressed fighting game connoisseurs with the likes of the Guilty Gear and BlazBlue series. DNF Duel follows in that tradition with animation that is absolutely gorgeous in motion.

What we know about DNF Duel so far

DNF Duel is a spinoff of Dungeon Fighter Online, a multiplayer beat ’em up originating from South Korea (where it’s known as Dungeon & Fighter). The game received an English release in 2010 and has since gone on to gross over $15 billion in revenue.

This will be the first time Dungeon Fighter will hit the fighting game circuit. However, even with the release of the trailer, details on DNF Duel remain scarce. We don’t know when and where the game is going to release, though the presence of global and English-speaking social media accounts indicates a North American release at least. Nexon and the developers also haven’t announced which platforms the game will launch for, though we can assume it’s targeting PC and consoles.

For now, all we can do is wait for more details and marvel at the visuals in the trailer. Seriously, if nothing else, the graphics are worth gushing over.

DNF Duel is developed by Neople, Arc System Works, and Eighting and published by Nexon. The companies haven’t announced any release date or platforms yet, but you can follow the official DNF Duel Facebook page for updates and more info.

Daniel Hein is either A) a lifelong video game fanatic, writer, and storyteller just sharing his thoughts on things, or B) some kind of werewolf creature. We're not quite sure which yet. He also makes mediocre video game retrospectives (and other content!) on YouTube where you can watch him babble on for hours about nothing.
