Two Blazblue games getting rollback netcode in 2022

Rollback netcode is always a popular term amongst fighting game fans. Just ask Virtua Fighter fans their thoughts about it. Enthusiasts of the genre consider rollback netcode the best way for online to run so matches and inputs can work fluidly between players. And now another big franchise is working to implement it.

Arc System Works has announced that two of its most popular titles will receive rollback netcode in 2022. BlazBlue Centralfiction and BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle will be receiving the netcode update. To clarify, it will not be every version of both games. BlazBlue Centralfiction will receive the netcode on the PC version of the game, and BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle will have it on the PS4 and PC versions. So no update is coming for the Switch version, unfortunately.

Arc System has announced a public test will happen for the Steam version of BlazBlue Centralfiction on December 7, 2021, at 8 AM Japan Time. For players in the states, that will be at 6 PM eastern time on December 6th, 2021. Any player that owns the Steam version of the game will be able to join and give feedback. The official release of the netcode is scheduled for February 2022 for BlazBlue Centralfiction and later in the year for Cross Tag Battle
