Three exciting new games head to PlayStation Plus in January

Whether you like RPGs, shooters or racing games, there's something for you!

Today, Sony officially confirmed January’s game lineup for PlayStation Plus.

Next month’s games include Persona 5 Strikers, Dirt 5 and Deep Rock Galactic. All of these games will be free for PlayStation Plus members from Jan. 4 to Feb. 1. All of the games will be available for both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. January’s lineup also offers a little something for everyone, as each of the three titles has its own distinct gameplay.

Persona 5 Strikers

Say hello to new games!

Persona 5 Strikers is a spinoff to the beloved Persona 5. Featuring a unique blend of RPG and hack-and-slash gameplay, this title thrusts the player into an epic journey across Japan. Follow the story of Joker and the rest of the Phantom Thieves as they investigate a series of strange events across the country.

Players interested in a change of speed (pun highly intended) may take to Dirt 5. This exciting racing game features both high-velocity multiplayer, as well as a narrative-focused career mode. Master the sport of off-road racing across a variety of terrain in 10 global locations.

Fans of first-person shooters won’t want to overlook Deep Rock Galactic. This co-op shooter requires teamwork as you battle your way through massive intergalactic cave systems. In addition, this game features fully destructible environments as you and your team blast through hordes of imposing space Dwarves.

VR will not return to PlayStation Plus in January

Although January’s PS Plus lineup looks strong, there will unfortunately be no bonus VR game as there was this month. December’s lineup featured three bonus virtual reality games: The Persistence, The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners – Standard Edition and Until You Fall.

In addition, December’s PlayStation Plus lineup featured Godfall: Challenger Edition, Lego DC Super Villains and Mortal Shell. Players have until the end of Monday, Jan. 3 to download all of December’s titles.

Old news

January’s lineup likely doesn’t come as much of a surprise to many, however. Last week, a rumor spread across the internet leaking the now-confirmed games. On the other side of the fence, Xbox also confirmed the leaked games coming in January for their similar service, Games With Gold.
