PlayStation Plus January 2022 lineup rumors circulate

Rumor has it that the lineup for the PlayStation Plus January lineup has been set.

PlayStation users who own a PlayStation Plus subscription await free games every month. While we’re still currently in the December lineup, rumor spreads about the PlayStation Plus January 2022 lineup. Even if it’s all just speculation, the lineup looks to be a great kickoff to 2022.

What games are coming to the PlayStation Plus January lineup?

Thanks to a report from Dealabs, it’s possible we may know what games are coming our way in January 2022. Twitter user Nibellion tweeted out the three potential games coming to the platform. These games include Deep Rock Galactic, Persona 5 Strikers and Dirt 5. Deep Rock Galactic and Dirt 5 are said to be on both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, while Persona 5 Strikers will be exclusive to the PS4 for PlayStation Plus.

Each game brings a different genre of game. Deep Rock Galactic is a cooperative first-person shooter, where users play as space dwarves doing different missions. Persona 5 Strikers, a spin off to the critically acclaimed Persona 5, crosses hack and slash and RPG gameplay. Dirt 5, a sports racing game, offers competitive gameplay and a narrative-focused career mode.

As of the December lineup, PlayStation plus includes bonus VR games for its 5th anniversary. Whether bonus VR games will continue on into 2022 or not, it’s hard to say. In the meantime, no VR games have been rumored to come with the subscription service in January 2022.

Fingers crossed

As always, this news should be taken with a grain of salt. While it’s just a rumor, I’m excited to see the potential lineup — particularly, Persona 5 Strikers. Members still have another two weeks to redeem the current December 2021 free games. The current lineup includes Godfall: Challenger Edition, Lego DC Super-Villains, and Mortal Shell. If you’re a PlayStation user and have already downloaded those games, then the most you can do right now is wait.
