All about the Resident Evil next-gen versions

Resident Evil 2 Remake, 3 Remake, and 7 all sold extremely well on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, so next-gen versions are a no-brainer. Capcom has revamped the visuals for the PS5 and Xbox One, including a number of enhancements to make these games look better than ever.

These games have been updated with a higher framerate, ray tracing, and 3D audio. For PlayStation 5 owners, the games also take advantage of the DualSense controller’s haptic feedback and adaptive triggers.

We don’t know when exactly these new versions are launching, but Capcom has promised them within the year. With rumors of a Resident Evil 4 remake circulating, it’s certainly an exciting time for fans of the series.

Resident Evil 7 Creature

If you own these games on PC, then fret not: PC players will also get these enhancements at no cost. Upgrade patches for all three games will go live for PC players when the PS5 and Series X versions launch.

Resident Evil 2 Remake, 3 Remake, and 7 are developed and published by Capcom. They are available now for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC; the titles will be available for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S in 2022.
