Leon is the second Resident Evil character introduced to Rainbow Six Siege as an elite skin. Earlier this year, Ubisoft introduced Jill Valentine as a new skin for operator Zofia. They modeled the Jill Valentine skin on her outfit from the original Resident Evil. The crossovers in Siege are a part of Capcom’s celebration of Resident Evil’s 25th anniversary.

History with crossovers

Ubisoft is no stranger to crossovers. Rainbow Six Siege featured a series of crossover skins from other Ubisoft titles. These ranged from Assassin’s Creed to Watch Dogs. Ubisoft even added Sam Fisher, the protagonist of Splinter Cell, as an operator.

Ubisoft also collaborated with other companies in their crossovers for Siege. Partnering with Square Enix, Siege added Tomb Raider protagonist Laura Croft as an elite skin bundle for Ash. Even Rick and Morty saw a crossover with Rainbow Six Siege.

Capcom is also known for having Resident Evil characters crossover in other games. In fact, the collaboration with Ubisoft on Rainbow Six Siege isn’t even their first Resident Evil crossover this year. In June, Leon and Jill also entered the world of multiplayer horror title Dead By Daylight. The Nemesis also joined as a new killer for players to survive on the Racoon Police Department map. Like the crossover in Siege, this partnership was also made to help celebrate the 2th anniversary.
