Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising, Evil Dead: The Game and more!

It’s Monday, and you know what that means: new weekly releases! Whether you’re a fan of solving puzzles, or banishing demons with your friends, there’s a game for you releasing this week. So, without further adieu, let’s preview all the games releasing this week.

Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising (May 10)

Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising is a 2.5D action RPG. Developed by Natsume Atari and published by 505 Games, this title follows the adventure of two treasure hunters and a young deputy mayor as they seek to uncover hidden magic and rebuild the town of New Nevaeh. The game also serves as a prequel to set up the story for next year’s Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes.

You can play Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising tomorrow on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC. In addition, it will be available through Xbox Game Pass for PC and console.

Salt and Sacrifice (May 10)

Salt and Sacrifice is a 2.5D action game set in a dark, gothic world that tasks the player with hunting down mages. Developed and published by Ska Studios, the game features a similar feel to the studio’s previous title Salt and Sanctuary. Throughout the game, you’ll take on a variety of monsters with a customizable character complete with a unique class.

One cool feature in the game is the ability to invade other peoples’ worlds and engage in PVP combat. Depending on the faction you align yourself with, you may either choose to help your fellow inquisitors or impede their quests in battle. You can play Salt and Sacrifice tomorrow for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and PC.

This War of Mine: Final Cut (May 10)

This War of Mine: Final Cut is a revamped and expanded version of This War of Mine for modern gen consoles. Developed and published by 11 Bit Studios as an antiwar game, the title teaches players the horrors of war. In the game, you’re tasked with managing a party of civilians attempting to survive in a war-torn city.

With the ongoing war in Ukraine, 11 Bit Studios also decided to donate sales profits directly to aid the Ukrainian Red Cross. As most war games, ignore the civilian cost of battle, This War of Mine is a hauntingly moving title. You can play it on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S tomorrow.

Unpacking (May 10)

Puzzle game fans will not want to ignore Unpacking. Developed by Witch Beam and published by Humble Games, this charming title’s simple premise involves fitting your old possessions into a new home. Along with finding the right spots to fit your items, you’ll also have freedom to decorate your home.

In addition, as you play through the calming game, you’ll learn clues that tell you about the character’s life. Although the game already released for Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC last November, PlayStation 4 & 5 gamers can finally unpack Unpacking tomorrow.

Evil Dead: The Game (May 13)

One of the most anticipated games releasing this week, Evil Dead: The Game is an asymmetrical PVP title based on the cult-classic Evil Dead movie franchise. Developed by Saber Interactive and published by both Saber and Boss Team Games, you can choose to help Ash and his allies or take control of the evil Kandarian Demon. Either side you choose, the blood-soaked mayhem will feature voice-acting by original cast, as well as iconic locations from the films.

Evil Dead: The Game launches this Friday for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One and PC via Epic Games Store. In addition, the game will release for Nintendo Switch at a later date. To learn more, you can also read our article here detailing everything we know!
