Gamescom 2023 dates have already been confirmed

The event will return in Cologne, Germany from August 23 through 27, 2023.

Gamescom 2022 is well underway, with the Opening Night Live ceremony wrapped up and tons of new games announced. More shows will be happening later this week, including an Xbox livestream happening today! And some people may be asking amidst all the announcements and shows: what about Gamescom 2023?

Thanks to a Twitter post by Geoff Keighley, we already have dates confirmed for next year’s Gamescom event. He shared a picture of a banner at the event that informed attendees when Gamescom 2023 will occur. It’s set to happen from August 23 to August 27, 2023 — with Gamescom Opening Night Live broadcasting on the 22nd.

What we know about Gamescom 2023 so far

As to be expected, the only things we really know so far about next year’s event is when it’s happening. No vendors have announced their intentions to be there yet, and that’s understandable since it’s still a year out. But it has been confirmed that the Opening Night Live event, hosted by Geoff Keighley and Natascha Becker this year, will return in 2023. It can be safely assumed that next year’s event will also occur at the Koelnmesse exhibition center in Cologne, Germany, but this hasn’t been confirmed yet.

There’s already been some incredible announcements and trailers so far. Sonic Frontiers got a story trailer and release date, and the upcoming Souls-like Pinocchio games Lies of P received a story and gameplay trailer. We’ll be covering the latest shows and announcements as they go love, so be sure to check back here at Mega Visions for more Gamescom news!

What did you think of the Gamescom announcements this week? Are there any games announced this week that you’re looking forward to? Are you planning to attend Gamescom next year? Let us know!

Daniel Hein is either A) a lifelong video game fanatic, writer, and storyteller just sharing his thoughts on things, or B) some kind of werewolf creature. We're not quite sure which yet. He also makes mediocre video game retrospectives (and other content!) on YouTube where you can watch him babble on for hours about nothing.
