Galactic Wars EX coming to PlayStation 4

Do you have what it takes to defend free space?

Ready for a retro experience? With its earlier release in spring of 2022, this retro-style game developed by VolcanoBytes is filled with nostalgic arcade gameplay. Now in partnership with VGNYsoft, Galactic Wars EX receives a North American physical copy release for PlayStation 4. Time to blast off!

Galactic Wars EX

Only one person can put a stop to the imminent threat of invasion, and that’s you. Inspired by old arcade classics, Galactic Wars EX features “pixel perfect authenticity.” Players can select three unique ships based on the playstyle they prefer. Side-scrolling gameplay faces you off against bug-like baddies. With its real hardware palette and specs to really emulate that nostalgic arcade feel, this game surely satisfies the retro heart.

Additionally, you don’t have to face invasion alone. Feel free to add in a friend with local co-op. Together you can challenge your enemies with various different weapons and power-ups. Face 40 phases with different bosses and mini bosses, all in 60FPS HD presentation. The original chiptune soundtrack will certainly pump you up as you aim for the highest score possible.

Game features:

  • Experience old-school side-scrolling shmup action in 60FPS HD style!
  • Choose from 3 ships with unique specs, strengths and weaknesses.
  • Blast through 40 phases of interstellar combat across 3 areas!
  • Play solo or team up with a friend for local co-op.
  • Take down a wide variety of enemies, bosses and mini bosses!
