After years of reasonable delays, Double Fine has come out and said that the long-awaited Psychonauts 2 finally hits shelves in 2021! The studio confirmed the news in a tweet that was a follow-up announcing that the original Psychonauts was on sale on Steam.
Psyconauts 2 was successfully crowdfunded in 2016 and has been highly anticipated by fans of the original game (including yours truly who contributed to the crowdfund). Over 87,000 backers pledged $3,336,371 to help bring this project to life. The Kickstarter project was fully funded in less than 8 hours.
It almost seems wildly ironic that after the last 2 years of mental insanity we’ll finally get to play more adventures in people’s heads with Raz. If you are a backer of the project, the team has been releasing fairly regular games updates on Fig.
