Yakuza: Like A Dragon comes to Xbox Game Pass

It’s E3 time, and that means we’re all looking for some surprising announcments. While we’re hoping for some big announcements (*cough* hurry up Nintendo *cough*) still to come, we did get some news that will certainly excite Yakuza fans out there.

During the Xbox/Bethesda press conference, it was announced that Yakuza: Like A Dragon would be coming to Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass service.

With SEGA’s latest entry in the Yakuza series joining Game Pass, it means the entire mainline series is now available to play on either Xbox systems or PC.

Like A Dragon was notable for several reasons, most importantly, is the introduction of a new series protaganist in the lovable Ichiban Kasuga. The game’s combat system also utilized a turn-based system, which series creator Toshihiro Nagoshi said will continue into the future.

“The Yakuza series has been transformed into a turn-based RPG. On the other hand, over the years, Ryu ga Gotoku Studio has accumulated resources and know-how of making flashy and exhilarating action games that are effortless to enjoy. We decided that we should let our signature action gameplay live on through Lost Judgment.”
