The King Of Fighters ’98 winter update is now live

Good news, old-school fighting fans! As we reported a couple of weeks agoThe King of Fighters ’98 is receiving a massive update on Steam. We’re happy to confirm that the update is now live! Code Mystics confirmed on Steam that the update is now up for all players after beta testing earlier in the month!

Code Mystics also detailed some changes that have been made since the beta earlier this month. You can check out the picture below that details the The King of Fighters ’98 changes. It also has a thank you to players for helping with the beta.

The King of Fighters '98 update

It’s marvelous to see that The King of Fighters ’98 is getting modern-day features like rollback netcode. Too many older fighters get forgotten to history because they are not given quality-of-life elements to let new players enjoy them. To see Code Mystics put the effort in to add rollback, lobbies and spectator mode to an SNK classic gives us hope for more fighting games down the line. Maybe one day we can see more SNK fighters? Or obscure brawlers like Clay Fighter 63 1/3? Or the coveted game the whole community wants, Marvel Vs. Capcom 2? Code Mystics is proving anything is possible!

The King Of Fighters ’98 Ultimate Match Final Edition is available now on PC via Steam. Are you thinking of stepping back into the ring with rollback online? Let us know in the comments below!
