The first Yakuza 8 screens are here!

It’s been some time since we’ve heard from the folks over at Ryu Ga Gotoku Studios. Everyone in the industry knows they are hard at work on Yakuza 8. But it looks like Famitsu got them to reveal some more info about the highly anticipated sequel.

Famitsu published an article detailing some new design choices and characters coming to the game. Included were some new screenshots of the game in development, plus the reveal that MMA Fighter Mirai Asakura will be in the game. You can check out the reveal tweet below from Famitsu.

It seems like the development of Yakuza 8 is going smoothly. That’s fantastic news, given it’ll be the first game in the series without creator Toshihiro Nagoshi. The decision to set gameplay in a new town should help the title stand out in the series. It did wonders for Lost Judgment, so I believe it’ll help here too. Also, love the tied-back hair look for Ichiban!

There is still no word on when we should expect Yakuza 8. Once a release date is given, we will update readers accordingly! Are you excited for another RPG romp with Ichiban and the gang? Let us know in the comments below!
