Souldiers Metroidvania releasing on Switch and PC

“Souldiers is a handcrafted retro epic for the ages.”

A new game heads towards the Nintendo Switch next month. Developed by Retro Forge and published by Dear Villagers, this new game plans to have both a digital and physical version. Explore the new Metroidvania game Souldiers on PC and Nintendo Switch.

Souldiers, the indie Metroidvania game

Indie Metroidvania game Souldiers follows the player in a unique world. Fight for your freedom in the mystical land of Terragaya, a world on the fringes of the afterlife. You and your fellow soldiers are tasked with locating the Guardian and moving on to the afterlife. However, there seems to be one small problem…

You never actually died.

Solve the mystery through battle, puzzles, and upgrading your character throughout the game. With “crunchy soulslike combat” and puzzle platforming, be ready to face countless challenges in this 16-bit world.

Game features:

  • Choose your class: Unleash the fury of your sword with the scout, summon the wrath of elements with the caster, or rain down arrows on your foes with the archer.
  • Gripping combat: Slash, parry and dodge your way through an ever-evolving roster of enemies, upgrading your skills and equipment to find a combat style that’s perfect for you.
  • An interconnected world: Discover a sprawling handcrafted landscape filled with treasures, tough-as-nails bosses and secret pathways.
  • 16-bit sensation: Terragaya comes to life with vibrant world-class pixel art packed to the brim with details.
  • Smart moves: Solve environmental puzzles and leap from place to place using an ever-expanding moveset.

When does it release?

The wait for Souldiers won’t be too long. Souldiers arrives in the Nintendo eShop and Steam May 19th, 2022. While no specific date has been given for the physical release on the Switch, hopefully the wait won’t be too long. Look forward to solving the mysteries of your death in this epic fantasy world “caught between the living and fallen.”
