SEGA heads to Gamescom 2022 with a public Sonic Frontiers preview

SEGA recently announced its lineup for Gamescom 2022 in Cologne, with games like Sonic Frontiers, Total War: WARHAMMER III, and HYENAS on display. The company will let attendees experience new games at their stand, including recent releases and upcoming titles. Notably, Sonic Frontiers is getting its first public hands-on demo at the expo.

Of course, the studio has its own stage where you can check out SEGA’s upcoming line-up. But Sonic Frontiers will also be available at the TikTok booth, where the head of Sonic Team Takashi Iizuka will make a meet-and-greet appearance.

This will be the first time the public will get their hands on the game since its announcement. Sonic Frontiers isn’t due out for another few months, but fans at Gamescom will get the chance to try it for themselves.

Sonic Frontiers and SEGA at Gamescom 2022

Obviously, the most exciting news of SEGA’s appearance at Gamescom is the Sonic Frontiers public demo. Reaction to previous footage of the game has been mixed, though many are still waiting to play the game themselves before passing judgement. Gamescom represents the first chance the public will have to feel the game in action rather than just seeing it.

Sonic Frontiers isn’t the only title on offer, of course. Here’s a list of games that we know SEGA will be showing off at Gamescom so far:

  • Sonic Frontiers
  • Company of Heroes 3
  • Total War: WARHAMMER III
  • Humankind
  • Two Point Campus
  • Persona 4 Arena Ultimax
  • Endless Dungeon
  • Demon Slayer – Kimetsu No Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles
  • Soul Hackers 2
  • HYENAS

Gamescom 2022 is happening from August 24 to 28 in Cologne, Germany. Learn more about what SEGA will be bringing to Gamescom this year by clicking the link here. Or, learn more about the event itself here.
