Ryu Ga Gotoku Studios gives a small update on Yakuza 8

It was only a couple of months ago that Ryu Ga Gotoku Studios announced that Yakuza 8 was in development. Of course, this new entry has a lot of question marks going into the process. This will be the first entry without studio leader Toshihiro Nagoshi and series director Daisuke Sato involved. So will things drastically change for the quirky franchise? Could the development hit a couple of speed bumps with new leadership? Well, it seems like everything is going satisfactory so far!

In a live stream from Nico Nico Chokaigi in Japan, new studio head Masayoshi Yokoyama confirmed that development is going smoothly for Yakuza 8. He discussed that the writing team was working on the climax for the game. He also confirmed that actors have already started recording lines for the game. If you were hoping those details meant a release date was discussed, unfortunately not the case. Yokoyama said that no release timeframe has been talked about yet. But he expects the public to see more details later this year.

It’s fantastic to identify that development is going smoothly for Yakuza 8 from the studio. This installment has the most to prove for the franchise in a long time. But Like A Dragon left them in a great spot to do so. Hopefully, we see Ichiban and the gang’s new adventure soon!

Stay tuned to Mega Visions for any future updates on Yakuza 8. What do you think the new installment will entail? Let us know in the comments below!
