PC version of Persona 5 Royal packs in all the DLC

Never saw it coming.

It’s very, very, very, tremendously-super-rare that a company will be generous in any modern game release. So it’s always nice to report on it when something as once-in-a-blue-moon as that actually happens. And guess what? It’s happened, and if you’re a Persona fan, it’s going to be of particular interest to you. Per PC Gamer, the PC port of Persona 5 Royal will include not just the base game – which is, in case you weren’t aware, pretty flippin’ good – but all forty-five (45) DLC packs that have been released for it. That’s right; you’ll be up to yer eyeballs in Persona goodness.

What does the DLC include?

“The game’s DLC ranges from things like costume packs to BGM packs to extra personas,” notes the report. There’s also “a challenge battle mode that has you facing off against Persona 3 and Persona 4‘s protagonists and some item packs to give your phantom thievery a little boost.” While some of these things are cosmetic, the vast majority have functional impacts on the game, making this a very tempting prospect and perhaps a worthwhile double-dip for existing owners.

All that thievery had to pay off eventually, eh Joker? Better off doing that than getting beaten into a pulp by me in Smash.

As is usual for things that seem too good to be true, though, there may be a caveat. “It’s worth noting that the news only explicitly mentions the Xbox and Windows version of the ports, not the Steam version. This might mean the offer is only on the table for those who play the game through Game Pass or the Microsoft Store,” which would blow proverbials. We can only hope umbrella terminology is in use here and that all platforms will be afforded the same treatment.

Persona 5 Royal launches on Game Pass for PC and Steam, with all 45 DLC packs in tow, on October 21. Will you be taking advantage of this deal? Let us know!
