Nintendo earnings report confirms Bayonetta 3 will release in 2022

Other games, like Metroid Prime 4 and the Advance Wars remakes, don't have definitive release windows.

Recently, Nintendo released its financial report for the 2021-22 fiscal year. The report details updated sales figures on the company’s popular and recent titles, as well as providing a schedule for upcoming releases. It confirms that Bayonetta 3, one of its most anticipated titles, is still planned to release in 2022.

We’ve slowly been getting more details on Bayonetta 3 over the past months after years of silence regarding the game. Despite a change in leadership midway through development, the official word is that work on Bayonetta 3 is proceeding along nicely.

Though we still don’t have a definitive launch date, this earnings report shows Nintendo’s confidence in having the game ready within the next few months. It’s possible that Nintendo and PlatinumGames will reveal more information about Bayonetta 3, including a release date, at a yet-to-be-announced summer Nintendo Direct. We’ll just have to wait and see for more info.

Nintendo Earnings Report 2021-22

When will Nintendo release Bayonetta 3?

According to the earnings report, Bayonetta 3 is set for release in 2022. Other upcoming titles like Pokemon Scarlet and Violet and Breath of the Wild 2 have tentative release dates as well. However, titles like Metroid Prime 4 and Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp currently have no launch estimate. That suggests that those titles are still a ways off.

Until we get confirmation on Bayonetta 3’s release, all we can do is speculate on when it will drop. Nintendo is planning to launch Xenoblade Chronicles 3 in July and Splatoon 3 in September, so it’s likely it’ll drop around the holidays. In the meantime, check out our coverage of Bayonetta 3 with all the latest updates on the game.
