New hoverboard shooter LEAP announced for PlayStation, PC

"Jump on your hoverboard and backflip into battle, or saddle up onto a mechanical moose and lead the charge!"

Developed by Blue Isle Studios, LEAP is a thrilling multiplayer first-person shooter on the horizon, with wild hoverboarding action and solid gunplay in 60-man arenas! While a release date is unconfirmed as of writing, players can expect the game to come to PlayStation 4, 5, and PC.

LEAP is everything you’d imagine about multiplayer first-person shooters: massive arenas, distinct weaponry, and faction-based battles. What sets it apart from others is how the familiar first-person shooter-style gameplay changes when modes of transportation and epic abilities can give you an edge in battle. A range of PVs (personal vehicles) will zip you across the map – from the mechanical moose to the hoverboard.

LEAP also has exosuits you can utilize: Pathfinder, Titan, Wraith, and Tech Ops. They’ll help spice up your playstyle, armor types, and skills. Some exosuits also allow players to fly with a jetpack. Others offer stealth for a more supportive role on the battlefield. Depending on your chosen exosuit, it’ll determine how you operate on the field when it comes to team play.

Features aside, though, Blue Isle Studios is kickstarting a beta on Jan. 19. You can sign up for a chance to play at their LEAP site.
