Mortal Kombat stuntwoman recreates Sonya Blade’s moves

In an impressive show of skill, stuntwoman Sofia Stunts recreates moves straight out of Mortal Kombat 11.

The Mortal Kombat franchises features intense action, whether it be Mileena ripping throats out or a series of fast-paced punches and kicks like Sonya. Truly, any of the combat in Mortal Kombat 11 would be insanely difficult to pull of. Yet, someone’s done just that! Twitch streamer and stuntwoman Sofia Stunts replicated the intense action of Sonya’s playstyle, highlighting her skills in a YouTube video.

Mortal Kombat stuntwoman Sofia Stunts

Danish stuntwoman Sofia Stunts has been doing this kind of work for awhile. In her YouTube video, she displays her talent side by side with clips of Special Forces soldier Sonya Blade from Mortal Kombat 11. As one of the original characters of the franchises, seeing Sonya’s moves in real life makes for an inspiring watch. Sonya’s skills often lie in fists and kicks, delivering brutal strikes to her opponents, which Sofia does a great job recreating.

Sofia not only goes through some of the character’s normal move sets, but also displays how some of the more harsh actions, such as the brutalities, look. She also included a couple extra move sets inspired by the character to put her own spin on things. All in all, it’s pretty impressive work.

She’s tackled other characters too

Additionally, Sofia’s done more than just Sonya in her recreations. In the Mortal Kombat realm, she’s also replicated Cassie Cage’s moves. She’s also showed off as Ling Xiaoyu and Lili from Tekken.

This Mortal Kombat stuntwoman has mad skills I couldn’t dream of doing myself. Feats like this remind me of those classic videos of people replicating Revolver Ocelot’s gun spinning. I’d love to see her take on other characters, such as tackling the large roster in the Super Smash Bros. franchise. Hats off to Sofia Stunts for her great work!
