Metal: Hellsinger joins this week’s upcoming games

Metal: Hellsinger, Return to Monkey Island and more!

Good morning, and happy Monday, everyone! As we begin the new week, let’s look at all the exciting new titles we can look forward to. Whether you want to blast away demons to heavy metal in Metal: Hellsinger or start a new swashbuckling adventure in Return to Monkey Island, there’s something for you. So, let’s not waste anymore time as we dive into this week’s upcoming games!

ScourgeBringer (Sept. 13)

ScourgeBringer

First up, we have ScourgeBringer. After first launching on consoles and PC between 2020 and 2021, the action-packed roguelike now heads over mobile devices. Developed by Flying Oak Games and published by Dear Villagers, this game sets players with the task of saving humanity as a lone warrior trapped in a labyrinth beyond space and time.

Throughout the game, you’ll need to jump, slash and shoot your way through barrages of enemies. As you explore the labyrinth, you’ll also travel though different Biomes, take out enemies and eventually face off with the Judge itself to bring down the Scourgebringer and save humankind. ScourgeBringer hits iOS and Android devices tomorrow!

XIII (Sept. 13)

Although the first attempt at remaking first-person shooter XIII was a misfire, Microids announced it would try again with another remake done by a new studio. This time, partnering with Lornsword: Winter Chronicles team Tower Five, the publisher hopes to right its previous wrongs by giving players the game they deserve. The remake offers a refined art style, updated AI, a new HUD and a completely revamped sound design.

In addition, the game will also include online multiplayer for up to 13 players. Those who already purchased the 2020 remake for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC will receive the new version as a free update. Additionally, XIII hits PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch tomorrow!

Bear and Breakfast (Sept. 15)

Bear and Breakfast

Developer Gummy Cat and publisher Armor Games Studios introduce their new cute simulation game Bear and Breakfast this week. This charming new title places you into the paws of a kind-hearted bear as you work to manage a forest-based bed & breakfast. After discovering a run-down inn in the woods, it becomes your goal to build the dilapidated building into a welcoming house of hospitality.

As you decorate and build the new B+B, you’ll also need to keep the new influx of guests happy as well. In addition, you can fully customize each room individually to your likings and complete quests to unlock new decorative items. Although Bear and Breakfast launched earlier this year for PC, it now heads to Nintendo Switch on September 15.

Metal: Hellsinger (Sept. 15)

Metal: Hellsinger

Metal: Hellsinger is a brutal new rhythm shooter developed by The Outsiders and published by Funcom. Although the game draws some heavy inspiration from Doom, it sets itself apart by encouraging players to blast enemies along to the music. With a soundtrack headlined by vocalists from bands like Arch Enemy and Lamb of God, this action-packed shooter has heavy metal in its DNA.

Combining brutal melodic death metal with equally brutal gunplay, Metal: Hellsinger will make you want to shred through guitar solos while shredding through demons! Better yet, as you keep up with the game’s rhythm, the game rewards you with intensified chaos. Metal: Hellsinger blasts out onto PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC on September 15.

Return to Monkey Island (Sept. 17)

Closing this week out, we have none other than the highly-anticipated Return to Monkey Island. Featuring the original game series co-creator Ron Gilbert, the new game will serve as a direct sequel to 1991’s Monkey Island 2: LeChuck’s Revenge. Developed by Gilbert’s studio Terrible Toybox and published by Lucasfilm Games and Devolver Digital, the latest game in the Monkey Island series promises all the hijinks players love.

The pirate monkey point-and-click adventure will also return Guybrush’s original voice actor Dominic Armato. As the first game in the series since Telltale’s previous revival, the new game looks like a true return to form for longtime fans. You can Return to Monkey Island on September 17 when it sails onto Nintendo Switch and PC.
