Final Fantasy Tactics Remaster rumors circulate with another leak

Retailer lists Final Fantasy Tactics Remaster on their website, strengthening rumors since the Nvidia GeForce leak.

Earlier this month we reported on the possibility of a Final Fantasy Tactics Remaster. Now there seems to be even more evidence building up towards the possibility. Thanks to another leak by a digital retailer, Final Fantasy fans have all the more reason to believe this classic may be coming back.

Back in September, Nvidia GeForce had a huge breach, resulting in the leaks of many different titles, including the Final Fantasy Tactics Remaster. Many of the different titles that were leaked don’t seem like they’ll come to fruition (as much as we want them all to be true). However, certain titles such as God of War for PC officially announced after the breach. There may be some truth to the leaks after all!

What’s spurring on these rumors?

Retailer Instant Gaming has only strengthened the rumors of a Final Fantasy Tactics Remaster. On their website, they have a listing for the title. The listing includes cover art, a release date, and Square Enix listed as the developer and publisher. If this turns out to be true, it’s possible the remaster hits the market sometime in 2023.

Final Fantasy Tactics originally came out in 1997, since regarded as a cult classic. A PlayStation Portable version known as Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions released in 2007. The game hasn’t received much attention since—until now.

With the news of the remaster ramping up to being a real possibility, a Final Fantasy IX Remake may also be in the cards; Final Fantasy IX was also mentioned in the Nvidia GeForce leak.

When will we next hear about the Final Fantasy Tactics Remaster?

As an avid Final Fantasy fan myself, I’m keeping my fingers crossed for the possibilities of both of these games. While the rumors should still be taken in with skepticism, I find it hard to hold back my excitement towards these titles. The Game Awards 2021 may have further news regarding new and upcoming titles when December hits.
