Capcom announces exciting new content on the way this year

DLC is coming this year for Monster Hunter Rise and Resident Evil Village!

In Famitsu’s New Year Greeting column, Capcom made some exciting announcements regarding their 2022 plans.

One game Capcom will focus on is the upcoming Monster Hunter Rise for PC. The game, originally released exclusively for Nintendo Switch, launches on Steam next Wednesday. Additionally, Capcom will release the expansion pack Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak this summer.

The massive DLC pack will add a plethora of monsters to the game. In addition, Sunbreak adds a new Elder Dragon and a Master Rank for quests. The DLC will be available for both the PC and Switch versions of the game.

Capcom also teased new Resident Evil content in the New Year Greeting as well. One piece of exciting news is that Resident Evil Village will get DLC this year. Capcom did not mention a date or details of the content. However, the company’s annual integrated report from October suggests the DLC for both RE Village and Monster Hunter Rise could be free.

Aside from new content for Village, Capcom also mentioned that it will provide new ways for players to enjoy other titles from the series. That being said, the company did not provide any details as to which games will appear for which platforms. However, with the rumors surrounding the recent concept art leak, a Resident Evil 4 remake may very well be on the table.

Capcom also added that 2022 is the 35th anniversary for both Street Fighter and Mega Man. While it’s likely the company has something planned to celebrate these two iconic franchises, they did not make any announcements yet.
