Blood-soaked, bullet-hell game Scathe announced with free demo

A bullet-hell FPS that promises “big guns and even bigger demons.”

UK game publisher Kwalee brings a new FPS to the table with Scathe. A limited-time free demo of the blood-soaked, action-packed game comes to Steam’s Next Fest celebration for those interested in testing it early. In the meantime, the game comes to PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC in 2022.

Scathe, the bloody bullet hell

“You have one job – escape the labyrinth of Hell.”

Scathe hits on that classic FPS feeling. With “big guns and even bigger demons”, players act as Scathe, Enforcer of the Legions of Hell, forged from the earth by the Divine Creator himself. The player must prove their worth nativating a deadly maze. Prepare to face “demonic evil” every twist and turn, wielding the Hell Hammer to fight with brute strength and extreme speed. On your way through the maze, defeat Guardians protecting the Hellstones you seek.

Features included in the game:

  • ESCAPE THE MAZE: Your task is simple; collect the Hellstones and escape the maze. Choose your own path by navigating expertly handcrafted zones – each filled with danger around every corner. Collect runes, uncover secrets, and smite all that stand in your way.
  • BULLET HELL: Scathe is no ordinary FPS… Take on relentless bullet Hell fuelled combat, with deadly projectiles and countless demons at every turn. Utilise Scathe’s incredible speed to smash through your enemies and incoming fire.
  • LOCK’N UNLOAD: Rip through your enemies with Scathe’s insanely powerful arsenal of weapons, each equipped with a devastating secondary fire. Spew hellfire with the Hot Hatch or slice through endless evil with the Bow Blade.
  • DROP IN/DROP OUT ONLINE MULTIPLAYER: Scathe will support full crossplay online multiplayer where players can drop-in and drop-out at any time. Already lost deep within the labyrinth? Call upon up to three friends to join the fight. But choose your kin wisely, because in Scathe, everyone shares the same pool of lives.

Excited to play? Try it out!

No official release date has been set for Scathe other than that it’s promised to come sometime in 2022. In the meantime, players can test out the game on Steam from February 21-28 for the Steam Next Fest celebration. Soon you’ll be ready to slice through endless evil as a Hell Enforcer. Ready to slay some demons yet?
