Bayonetta 3 resurfaces at Nintendo Direct for 2022 release

After 1386 days of silence, we finally have news! Bayonetta 3 is alive and on track for a 2022 release! During yesterday’s Nintendo Direct, Platinum Games showed off gameplay of the highly anticipated title for the first time. You can see it above if you scrolled to read first. And yes, that certain account noticed:

After all the jokes, all the memes, all the chatter about the game being in trouble, it’s so wonderful to see the game in motion after all this time! Everyone at Platinum Games must feel relieved and revitalized to see the fans freaking out at the gameplay. I love the series myself and screamed when I realized it was finally time to see the game in action.

There are tons of new questions now in terms of what the game could be about story-wise. It does sound like a new voice actress is playing Bayonetta as Hellena Taylor hinted on Twitter. But I wonder if that is the Bayonetta we all know? If you remember, the first teaser of the game showed what looked to be Bayonetta defeated. And the hairstyle of Bayonetta this time matches how Cereza had hers in the first game. Could this be a case where a grown-up alternate timeline Cereza has to save the Bayonetta we all know? Who knows? But that’s my theory!

Bayonetta 3 will release in 2022 exclusively for the Nintendo Switch. Do you have a theory about what is going on? Let us know below!
