Ambiguous Resident Evil 3 updates rumored to tease Nemesis Edition

Resident Evil 3 was a destined remake after the successful numbers the remade Resident Evil 2 charted for Capcom. After being released last year, RE3 has generally received positive reviews, but the community was disappointed by its’ lack of dread and scarce content. Due to the ambiguous and recent updates for the Steam version, the community speculates that the Nemesis Edition, a rumored much-needed overhaul of fixes and new tidbits, is on the horizon.

The theories sparked on a recent Reddit thread, chronicling the numerous updates over the last couple of months. True to the title, these updates were ambiguous because no one knew what they did for the game. You can find the Steam version patches on the Reddit post, including the latest from some days ago below:

One user suggested that they could be ray-tracing updates, but the former theory on a rumored Nemesis Edition became the defacto buzz. Everyone is hopeful and idealist, but it ends up just being that – with nothing to clarify the excitement.

Easter Eggs maybe?

The following theory explains that Capcom is adding Easter eggs to hint at a Resident Evil 4 remake. RE is known to have an ample amount of Easter eggs, so it’s definitely not out of the ballpark, but it’s still impossible to guess. A next-gen upgrade is not too far from being right either; however, the community has been vocal about wanting new content instead.

Starved for the Nemesis Edition that could add guns, zones, and reworks, the community is persistently reading between the lines on the subject; and will continue to do so until official word comes from the studio to confirm or deny their suspicions. Capcom would be remiss not to add anything to increase the game’s longevity, but like always, time will tell.
