Multiple sources have been hinting at the return of SEGA’s Virtua Fighter series for a while now, but it seems we might now have confirmation that the fighting series return is closer than we think. For many months now, there has been speculation of a new title in the famous series. In September, there were hints of a new game that would focus on eSports.
A couple of weeks ago, we reported on Ultimate Showdown getting rated in South Korea.
According to Twitter user PSN releases, the id CUSA20138 with the title Virtua Fighter eSports has appeared on the Japanese PSN store.
What this could entail we are still unsure of. A remastered version of Virtua Fighter 5 with net code, or could it just be a potential re-release of 5 like we reported with South Korea? Based on this recent tweet, it’s not definitely not restricted to one country.
