Watermelon Game’s Project Y beating up your Genesis this March

ProjectY 1
Project Y is a beat ’em up with RPG elements and will feature up to four playable characters. Who needs another Streets of Rage?!

It’s been known for awhile that Watermelon Games, the indie development studio currently working Pier Solar HD, has simultaneously been developing another game, which they have called Project Y.

The game will be a Genesis beat ’em up with RPG elements set in a post-apocalyptic Asian metropolis crammed into a 40 megabits cartridge. “The last survivors of the nuclear war are divided into several classes, where the most powerful have the others by the balls,” the project’s description reads on its official site. “This has divided the governing bodies into several fractions, where ethnic mafias and a corrupt corporation are just a few of them!”

Additionally, Project Y will have four playable character and has been slated to release on the Genesis on March 25.
