Vampire Western game Evil West has gone gold

The genre-bending game from Focus Entertainment has gone gold ahead of its November release.

Evil West, the upcoming vampire Western game from Focus Entertainment, has officially gone gold. Set to release next November, the game is the latest from developer Flying Wild Hog, the creator of games like the Shadow Warrior reboot series as well as 2022’s Trek to Yomi.

Focus Entertainment announced yesterday that the game had gone gold ahead of its release. (If you didn’t know, a game goes gold once the launch version of the title is finished and sent off for manufacturing.) We still have over a month to go until the game hits store shelves, leaving us plenty of time to gear up for Evil West and the surprises it will bring.

Evil West is the vampire Western game you always wanted

Mashing up the vampire and Western genres seems like an odd choice, yet Evil West seems to be doing it in style. Set in a fantasy version of the Old West, you take control of vampire hunter Jesse Rentier as he hunts down monsters on a quest for revenge. He belongs to the Rentier Institute, a vampire hunting organization employed clandestinely by the United States government.

The gameplay takes heavy inspiration from both the Devil May Cry series and the 2018 God of War. Jesse can deal with hordes of vampiric creatures with both his melee maneuvers and arsenal of guns. By upgrading your weapons and skills, you can become the ultimate vampire killer.

Evil West is developed by Flying Wild Hog and published by Focus Entertainment. It will launch for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S on Nov. 22.

Are you looking forward to Evil West? Will you be picking it up in November? Let us know!
