This new Resident Evil 2 mod is inspired by S.D. Perry’s novels

Revisit the evil residing in the Arklay Mountains from a new perspective.

Resident Evil REvisited is a new mod coming to the PC version of Resident Evil 2. REvisited will act as a prequel to the original Resident Evil. REVisted, the group developing the mod, states their goal is to, “provide you with something new, but also nostalgic and fun!”

The upcoming mod takes heavy inspiration from the novels by S.D. Perry and will feature a brand new story, locations and characters. Players will take on the role of one of Perry’s original characters, an Umbrella employee named Trent, AKA Victor Darius. Trent’s mission is to collect data from the Spencer Mansion lab.

As this is a Resident Evil game, however, things of course don’t go smoothly for Trent. Along the way, the Umbrella employee is forced to seek refuge at the A Day in Raccoon motel after encountering zombies. You can watch the trailer below.

In addition to introducing new locations, the upcoming mod will also allow players to visit familiar locations, such as rooms from the GameCube remake of the first title. It will also follow the classic RE formula with tank controls and fixed camera angles. Additionally, it will feature altered puzzles and new NPCs. The modders state that a demo will be available soon.

What do you think of the mod? Are you excited to play through Trent’s story? Let us know below!
