The Last Of Us: Part 1 for PS5 and PC leaks early

When a big event like the Summer Games Fest approaches, there’s bound to always be an announcement leak of some sort. For example, a game trailer can go up too early, or a retailer puts the store page up before the reveal. In the case of Sony today, it was somehow both as they revealed The Last Of Us: Part 1 is coming to PS5 and PC.

Sony accidentally confirmed the news on their own site, PlayStation Direct. The webpage for The Last Of Us: Part 1 launched with a trailer and details of the upcoming remaster. And you can tell it was supposed to be for Summer Game Fest because host Geoff Keighley had a cheeky tweet minutes after sites caught the webpage.

The release is a remake from the ground up specifically for PS5. It will feature modern control updates, improved graphics, and modern accessibility features. You can check out the trailer below.

Isn’t it a little soon for a remake of The Last Of Us: Part 1?

It might seem odd, but I get it. The Last Of Us is still immensely popular among the PlayStation fanbase. And adding in all the wonderful accessibility features the sequel had to the original is a tremendous plus! But $70 for a game that had a remaster on PS4 not that long ago? That’s a steep price for a game many have already played on multiple consoles. I’m more curious about the PC port. But, details are scarce for that so far.

The Last Of Us: Part 1 releases on September 2nd, 2022. The PC release date has not been confirmed yet. Are you excited to jump back into the bleak world of The Last Of Us? Or do you think this remaster isn’t worth the steep cost? Let us know in the comments below!
