The Chant joins this week’s upcoming games

The Chant, Ghost Song and more!

Happy Halloween, everybody! Better yet, it’s also the start of a new week, which means we have tons of new games releasing this week to look forward to. Whether you want to keep spooky season alive in The Chant or jump into a new metroidvania in Ghost Song, there’s a new game for you. So, without any further adieu, here are all the games releasing this week!

The Chant (Nov. 3)

Starting things off this week, we have The Chant. Developed by Brass Token and published by Prime Matter, this haunting title centers around a cult based on the remote Glory Island. After protagonist Jessica Briars visits the island upon some convincing by her old friend Kim Mallari, things quickly take a dark turn.

During the Prismic Science Spiritual Retreat on the island, the cult unleashes an ancient dark force known as The Gloom. As The Gloom rises, an event promised by cult leader Tyler Anton as a great spiritual healing and transformational journey quickly becomes an haunting rollercoaster of life and death. You can enter Glory Island when The Chant launches on Thursday for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.

Ghost Song (Nov. 3)

Entering your home next is Ghost Song. Developed by Old Moon and published by Humble Games, this charming metroidvania offers a deep tale of mystery and redemption. On the desolate moon of Lorian, far and away from known space, a Deadsuit awakens.

The game offers everything from exploitation and challenging combat, to locating tool and resources to increase the odds of survival. All the while, players become engrossed in a world that ponders the aspects of life and death at the edges of space. Ghost Song launches for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch and PC on Thursday.

Endling – Extinction is Forever (Nov. 3)

Developer Herobeat Studios and publisher HandyGames introduce their new 3D/side-scrolling stealth game in Endling- Extinction is Forever to next-gen consoles this week. The game tells a sorrowful story of survival during climate change. Placing you in the role of one of Earth’s last foxes, you must flee your home forest as a wildfire rampages.

The game’s heart-wrenching story plays as an ominous warning of the dangers of climate change. And its minimalistic art style accompanies the foreboding and disheartening tale of this fox trying to survive a devastated landscape while providing for her babies. Although last-gen players got to experience the somber tale in July, Endling – Extinction is Forever comes to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S on Thursday.

How to Say Goodbye (Nov. 3)

How to Say Goodbye is a sorrowful puzzle game with themes of grief and coping with loss. Developed by Florian Veltman and Baptiste Portefaix and published by Arte France, this somber title pulls direct inspiration from children’s books about dealing with death. Throughout the game, players will explore a spirit-filled world as the ghost of a recently parted person.

The goal of the game is to escape the space between life and death and officially move on. To do this, players will need to solve puzzles that involve sliding the grid-based floor and furniture to create a path to exit. You can play How to Say Goodbye on Thursday when it comes to Nintendo Switch, PC, Mac, iOS and Android.

The Entropy Centre (Nov. 3)

The Entropy Centre is also a puzzle game that pulls direct inspiration from Portal. Developed by Stubby Games and published by Playstack, this first-person sci-fi puzzler sets players on a time-traveling adventure. Throughout the game, you’ll need to turn back time on various objects in an abandoned space station with the goal of reversing history to make sure that life on Earth doesn’t go extinct. No pressure, right?

Armed with ASTRA, a gun that moves objects back in time, protagonist Aria must manipulate objects to solve complex puzzles. Throughout the game, players will also learn more about the truth that caused the catastrophe and the unfortunate reality that faces Aria. The Entropy Centre launches on Thursday for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One and PC.

It Takes Two (Nov. 4)

Closing out this week, we have the Nintendo Switch port of It Takes Two. The charming co-op adventure, developed by Hazelight and published by EA, puts you and a friend on a journey where teamwork is the only solution. 2021’s Game of the Year winner, this game sets you and a friend as the clashing couple Cody and May.

You’ll face everything from rampaging vacuum cleaners to suave love gurus in a two-player experience with a deep meaning. You can also choose to play online or locally with traditional couch co-op. While It Takes Two first launched last year, Nintendo Switch players can try it on Friday.
