The Big Blue Kickstarter ends unsuccessfully

As expected, the Big Blue Kickstarter campaign, led by Ecco the Dolphin creator Ed Annunziata, ended unsuccessfully today. The campaign had 867 backers, who pledged $55, 764 but was far shy of the $665,000 goal.

However, while the campaign may have been a failure, Annunziata has a plan that he recently revealed, where he’s going to develop a free demo of Big Blue, which will be known as Little Blue. Once it’s available, he plans to create another Kickstarter campaign that will have a lower monetary goal, better “clarity of gameplay, better rewards at a finer granularity and a less ambitious scope but a fully playable game.”

It is a shame more people didn’t pledge to fund the game, but we’re really hoping the next Big Blue campaign will be more successful. We’re hoping to have Annunziata on the SEGA Nerdcast very soon to shed more light on what’s to come!
