SEGA officially attending E3 2021

LET THE WILD SPECULATION BEGIN!!!

It was about a month ago the Entertainment Software Association announced E3 2021 would be returning this year, albeit in a digital only form. While several large game companies, like Sony, won’t be attending this year’s event, others have come forward to support arguably the industry’s most important annual event.

Just two weeks ago, Square Enix president and CEO Yosuke Matsuda announced his company would be attending this year’s event. Earlier today, the ESA confirmed that SEGA, Bandai Namco, XSEED Games and others will also be at E3 2021.

While rumors have been swirling over the past couple weeks whether SEGA would actually be attending or not, it’s good to finally have confirmation that the company will be there.

As with most other publishers, the COVID-19 pandemic has forced SEGA to alter many of its marketing efforts, like with SXSW’s cancellation, which would have featured another Sonic the Hedgehog panel with new announcements.

The panel was titled the “Gotta Go Fast: The Official Sonic the Hedgehog Panel” and would have taken place on March 20 in Austin.

Sonic the Hedgehog is back at SXSW! Join special guests from SEGA and Sonic Team as they talk about the latest for the blue blur and his next steps for 2020 and beyond. There’s almost always a special announcement or two to be had, so be sure to stay tuned!

In any case, we’re just excited that SEGA’s going to be there, and now we can all speculate on SEGA finally dropping that E3 2021 SEGATON announcement, baby! ?
