Sandstorm Requiem update announced for Phantasy Star Online 2: NGS

Plus a collaboration with Attack on Titan is on the way November 17!

SEGA announced a new update, titled “Sandstorm Requiem”, will arrive to Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis this December.

Players frustrated with the lack of content in NGS will finally have their prayers answered. SEGA is packing the new update with lots of new content. In addition to new story characters, Sandstorm Requiem will also add new class skills and elemental techniques. The massive update will also include new story content with an entirely new region for players to explore.

The new region, called Retem, is a desert that will feature sand dunes, rocky terrain and canyons. In addition, the area will have its own unique weather and vegetation to differentiate it from Aelio. The Retem region will also have introduce a slew of new enemies. While exploring the region, players can expect to face off against heavily equipped foes such as Fortos Launcher and Lizentos: DOLLS.

Prior to the update’s launch in December, Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis players can get ready with login bonuses and campaigns. Beginning November 24, players can take part in a series of limited time tasks. Completing these tasks will reward players with Star Gems and materials to take to the Retem region once Sandstorm Requiem launches. SEGA will provide further details in the next NGS Headline presentation on December 7.

Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis collaborates with Attack on Titan

In addition to Sandstorm Requiem, even more content will head to PSO2: NGS. On November 17, the new Scratch Ticket, titled “Titans of Destruction” goes live. The collaboration event will merge the world of New Genesis with the popular anime series Attack on Titian.

The event will offer a series of cosmetic items inspired by the anime for players to use. In addition to military uniforms and a Colossal Titan Suit, the event will also add the ultra-hard blade. Players visiting Central City will also be able to view the unique Attack on Titan decorations, including the Colossal Titan.
