SNK announced via press release that Samurai Shodown is making it’s way to Steam. With this, reveal of the third character in the “Season Pass 3” DLC. Shiro Tokisada Amakusa was the first boss in the franchises history and this marks his return after 17 years laying dormant within the franchise.

There will be a 4th character yet to be announced. However, it has been confirmed to be a character from Guilty Gear. It’s expected this character will show up sometime this summer.

Samurai Shodown releases on Steam June 14th. Naturally, this was completely buried by an announcement for King of Fighters XV. Ryo Sakazaki, Robert Garcia and King will join the roster as “Team Art of Fighting”

Samurai Shodown was released in the arcades for the Neo-Geo MVS in 1993. Due to it being in the middle of the “Violence in Gaming” era, home versions were heavily censored. Blood was replaced with white sweat for example. You can get around the censorship by having a Japanese Neo Geo AES, or play the 1994 release on the 3DO.
