Mortal Kombat 1 beta set for next month

Six fighters join the Mortal Kombat 1 beta!

Yesterday, Mortal Kombat co-creator Ed Boon announced on Twitter that the official Mortal Kombat 1 beta will begin on August 18.

The beta will run from August 18 to August 21 for players on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. To get access to the beta, all you need to do is simply pre-order the game. In addition, anyone who pre-orders Mortal Kombat 1 will also get access to play as Shang Tsung. It’s currently uncertain whether Nintendo Switch and PC players will get access to a separate beta.

We also know which characters, stages and Kameo Fighters will feature in the beta. There will be six playable characters in the beta test. These include Liu Kang, Sub-Zero, Kenshi, Kitana, Johnny Cage and Li Mei.

In addition, you’ll be able to choose from four Kameo Fighters to back you up. The Kameo Fighters featured in the beata include Kano, Sonya Blade, Jax and Frost. The two stages in the beta are The Teahouse and Johnny Cage’s Mansion.

Mortal Kombat 1 smashes into your home this September

Mortal Kombat 1 hits your PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch and PC on September 19. You can also pre-order the game now to receive Shang Tsung as a playable character. Additionally, pre-ordering the Premium Edition will also give you access to six new playable characters, five new Kameo characters, a Jean-Claude Van Damme skin for Johnny Cage, a week of early access to DLC characters and 1250 Dragon Krystals (In-game Premium Currency).
