Project Sonic 2017 now known as Sonic Forces

Members of SEGA are at SXSW for their now seemingly annual Sonic the Hedgehog panel, and they’ve just announced that Project Sonic 2017 is officially known as Sonic Forces.

The name refers to the game’s main theme of good and evil forces (Team Sonic versus Eggman and crew). The game will run on an entirely new engine called The Hedgehog Engine 2 and is still slated for a release later this year. It’s said that the game will have three modes of gameplay and is an evolution of Sonic Generations and Sonic Colors.

Sonic Forces will be released this holiday season on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch and PC.
