Pier Solar HD delayed to April

It appears you’re going to have to wait just a little longer to get your hands on Pier Solar HD, as WaterMelon Games revealed on Twitter the game has been delayed from its planned late-March release until April.

No specific reason was given at the time, but we’re reaching out to them and will update this post as we learn more. Pier Solar HD is planned to launch on the Dreamcast, PlayStation 3, PS4, Wii U, OUYA, PC, Mac, Linux and Android.

[UPDATE: WaterMelon Game’s social media and community manager Gisele Goodwin tells us the primary reason for the delay is the company is working to release Pier Solar HD on all platforms as close together as possible.

“It is challenging to coordinate (with) all the major companies to make it happen,” she said. “Besides this point, we do have other factors holding us back, but those will be approached on our next update. Don’t worry, though, it is nothing major. The game will be released soon.”

Goodwin acknowledged the need to update the company’s KickStarter backers but said one reason why there hasn’t been one yet is the next update will reveal new segments in the game in high definition that haven’t been shown before. “We want to include exclusive material, so yes, it’s taking longer than we wish, but the wait will be worth it in the end.”]
