Numskull releases build-your-own snowboarding Sonic advent calendar statue

Fans can assemble this snowboarding Sonic one piece at a time leading up to Christmas Eve.

There’s no holiday tradition quite like the advent calendar — a perfect way to count the days towards Christmas. But this year, Numskull Designs and SEGA are putting their own unique spin on this tradition. Right now, you can purchase a snowboarding Sonic statue that you assemble yourself as an advent calendar, putting a new piece on it each day.

The finished statue itself measures 9 inches (22.86cm) by 8.6 inches (21.84cm) by 7.4 inches (18.79cm). It comes disassembled in 24 pieces with each piece placed separately inside the box. Every day, you open up a new part of the package to unveil the next piece. If you start on Dec. 1, you’ll have a fantastic-looking statue of Sonic on Christmas Eve. It’s certainly an inventive way to count down to the holiday — and the finished statue looks absolutely amazing. So really, this is a win-win.

All about the snowboarding Sonic advent calendar statue

Numskull Designs have partnered with SEGA to deliver this awesome-looking Sonic statue as part of its new Countdown Character line. This is the first statue of its kind produced by the company, but from the looks of the store page, Numskull has plans for more advent calendar-style game statues and figurines in the future.

What’s especially great about this Sonic advent calendar statue is that while it is winter-themed, it is not Christmas-themed. That means that while its intent is to be built by Christmas Day, you can display it any time of the year. It also makes this a great gift for any of your friends and family regardless of what holiday you celebrate.

You can preorder the statue now through either the official SEGA store or Just Geek. More details can be found here.
