SEGA Genesis, Nintendo 64 games coming to Nintendo Online

During the latest Nintendo Direct, Nintendo announced two new systems are joining the Nintendo Online library. The SEGA Genesis and Nintendo 64 will have some of their biggest classics now playable on the Switch with a Nintendo Online subscription!

The subscription will be part of a new “expansion pack” that will be a new subscription tier to the service. The pricing compared to what Nintendo Online is now will be revealed at a later date. As for the games that will be available at launch:

For SEGA Genesis: 

  • Castlevania: Bloodlines
  • Contra: Hard Corps
  • Dr. Robotnik’s Mean Bean Machine
  • Ecco the Dolphin
  • Golden Axe
  • Gunstar Heroes
  • Musha
  • Phantasy Star IV
  • Ristar
  • Shining Force
  • Shinobi III
  • Sonic the Hedgehog 2
  • Streets of Rage
  • Strider

For Nintendo 64:

  • Super Mario 64
  • Mario Kart 64
  • Starfox 64
  • Yoshi’s Story
  • The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
  • Mario Tennis
  • Dr. Mario 64
  • Sin and Punishment
  • WinBack

Other games were revealed to be coming to Nintendo Online for both systems. While no Genesis games were shown, Paper Mario, Pokemon Snap, and Banjo Kazooie are coming for Nintendo 64. All games will have online play capabilities at launch. Like they did for the NES and SNES, Nintendo will offer wireless controllers for the systems for $50 each that will be compatible with your Nintendo Switch.
