MultiVersus Open Beta comes soon, new trailer reveals Iron Giant

In a new trailer from yesterday, Warner Bros. and Player First Games revealed the MultiVersus Open Beta will begin on July 26.

Upon launch, you can play the Open Beta on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One and PC. In addition, the MultiVersus Open Beta will feature full cross-play support with dedicated server-based rollback. Alongside revealing the Open Beta’s release date, the latest trailer also showcases lots of new gameplay, including the addition of Iron Giant as a playable character.

For those who participated in the Closed Alpha, you can jump into the Open Beta a little early. Early Access for the Open Beta begins on July 19. However, even if you weren’t part of the Closed Alpha, there’s still a way to earn entry into the Open Beta’s Early Access. Players can earn a special entry code via Twitch Drops that you can learn more about on MultiVersus’ FAQ.

In total, the Open Beta will feature eight playable arenas to do battle. Among these include The Batcave, Adventure Time’s Tree Fort and Scooby Doo’s Haunted Mansion. Players can also participate in a number of game-modes including online 1v1, 2v2 and four-player free-for-alls. Additionally, the game also features local multiplayer for up to four players.

MultiVersus is a free-to-play platform fighter that features a diverse cast of Warner Bros. characters. The game features multiple modes, including 1 vs. 1, 4-player free-for-alls as well as the game’s main focus: 2 vs. 2 team-up matches. Each character in the game also has special moves that work alongside other characters to promote strategic collaboration.

However, as time goes on, Warner Bros. promises the roster to greatly expand. Although it’s uncertain which characters will see their way into MultiVersus, we made a list of five who would be great. In addition, the game’s director also teased the possibility for Mortal Kombat fighters to make it in after asking fans who should join.

The MultiVersus Open Beta launches on July 26 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One and PC. The full game will also go live later this year. In addition, Warner Bros. confirmed the title will feature at EVO 2022.
