Mouse support comes to House of the Dead on Xbox One

PlayStation 4 also receives an update that allows PS Move support!

Forever Entertainment announced yesterday on Twitter that The House of the Dead: Remake on Xbox One now features mouse support.

The Tweet came alongside a video trailer that showcases gameplay utilizing a mouse to aim. Although fans and critics praise HotD: Remake for its faithfulness to the original, playing on a standard controller imposed limitations. While a using a mouse still doesn’t give players the same experience as a light gun, the increased fluidity remains an improvement.

In addition to mouse support for Xbox One, Forever Entertainment also added compatibility for PlayStation Move for the PS4 version. As a result, PlayStation 4 gamers can now utilize the motion tracking capabilities of their PS Move controller for a playthrough that’s more faithful to the original light gun arcade title. Alongside the PlayStation Move, the PSVR Aim Controller also works with HotD on PS4.

About The House of the Dead: Remake

The House of the Dead: Remake is developed by MegaPixel Studio and published by Forever Entertainment. The game reimagines SEGA’s arcade classic with modern graphics, a higher framerate as well as new voice acting. Other improvements include a redesigned UI, HD rumble and the option to change the blood color.

HotD: Remake also comes with two playable modes. Classic Mode resembles the playstyle of the ’90s classic, and Horde Mode quickens up the pace and swarms you with more enemies for a more chaotic playthrough. Although the game first launched for Nintendo Switch on April 7, you can now also play it on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC and Stadia.

Have you played HotD: Remake? In addition, do you think the new controller support improves its gameplay on each console? As always, share your thoughts with us in the comments!
