High On Life gets a new trailer & release date

If you missed it at E3, Rick & Morty creator Justin Rolland has a new game coming out! Rolland founded the game studio Squanch Games, and they are hard at work on their next title High On Life. The game is the studio’s first crack at a first-person shooter with many weird worlds to explore. Of course, the game is also coming with Rolland’s distinct sense of humor.

This is showcased in a new gameplay trailer revealed at Gamescom opening night by the team. In the footage, we get a good look at what looks to be an early boss fight in High On Life. The shootout has you facing against 9-Torg in an arena that is commented on repeatedly on how disgusting it is. As the fight is about to conclude, the footage cuts. You can check out the gameplay below.

I feel like this is a perfect trailer to let people know if they want to try High On Life or not. The gameplay looks pretty unique for the shooter genre. Plus, there should be praise for any FPS that has boss fights. Rolland’s constant quips may make or break players. While I find them funny, I could see someone finding them grating after a while.

High On Life releases on December 13th for Xbox Series S/X, Xbox One, and PC. It will be available on Xbox Game Pass on release day also. Are you excited to get weird in this unique-looking shooter? Let us know in the comments below!
