Final Fantasy VI Pixel Remaster will release in 2022

Final Fantasy VI

After months of anticipation, Square Enix has revealed more details on the Final Fantasy VI pixel remaster. The game will release in February of 2022. The date was confirmed in a tweet by the Final Fantasy Twitter account. The tweet also confirmed that the game will release later than anticipated. But, it’s to give the team more time to polish the game. You can see the tweet below:

For those unaware, Square Enix has been remastering the first six Final Fantasy games in one package for PC. The remakes include updated pixel art, remastered soundtracks, and other quality of life improvements. Final Fantasy VI is the last game set for release in said package.

It makes sense that Square wants to take their time with Final Fantasy VI. The last remaster of the game dropped in 2014. That version didn’t get glowing reception from the fan base. And the pixel remasters themselves have seen mixed reception themselves. Fans love VI across the world. So making sure it is all good on release is critical.

Final Fantasy VI is a part of the Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster collection available now on Steam. You will also be able to buy the game separately. Are you excited to see VI remastered? What are your thoughts on the Pixel remasters? Let us know below!
