Dragon Age 4 updates include Executive Producer leaving BioWare

There’s still no release date, but BioWare promises more news to come in the future.

It seems the wait for Dragon Age 4 continues to be endless. We heard news about the game back during the Nvidia GeForce leak, where speculation circulated that it may release June 15, 2022. Whether that was true or just a rumor, we still don’t know. However, it seems there’s been another bump in the road for the game’s production. Reportedly, Dragon Age 4’s executive producer Christian Dailey has left the studio.

Dragon Age 4 in Production” update

Seeing fans’ numerous concerns about the state of the game, BioWare recently made a post titled “Game Update: Dragon Age in Production.” Well, that’s good to hear—at least we still know the project is moving forward.

Within the post, BioWare confirmed they are in the middle of the Production stage of the game’s development. This comes after all the Concept and Pre-Production phases. BioWare added a statement regarding where they’re at within the Production stage:

“Our blueprint was completed last year, so we’re now focused on building out our vision: creating amazing environments, deep characters, strong gameplay, impactful writing, emotional cinematics – and much more. The blueprint for the game is well understood and the team is focused.”

However, this did come with some other news, perhaps unfortunate. Dragon Age 4 Executive Producer Christian Dailey decided to leave the BioWare team. Dailey joined back in 2018, but moved on to “try new things,” BioWare noted. They thank him for his time with the studio and wish him the best of luck moving forward.

However, this isn’t the end of things. BioWare assured everyone all their other producers are still making great progress with the game. As of now, the game is in the hands of a few different figures. This includes Production Director Mac Walters, who’s been with BioWare for 18 years and led the Mass Effect Legendary Edition development. Additionally, Corrine Busche, who’s led the design direction for Dragon Age, acts as Game Director. Benoit Houle, the Director of Product Development, continues to be involved with every single Dragon Age game to date.

More to come, eventually

So, even if the Executive Producer has left the studio, BioWare promises Dragon Age 4 updates are still to come with its development. In fact, fans can expect to hear more about the game later this year “in the form of blogs and social content.” They urge fans to keep talking to them and giving them feedback. Personally, I’ve been waiting excitedly (and very patiently) for the game, so I look forward to anything BioWare has to say about the game.
